Education in its various forms has been the unifying thread throughout my career. My first job was at McGraw-Hill Education in the heart of NYC. I was fortunate to have been surrounded by dynamic teams of creatives which allowed me to learn and grow professionally with each challenge. Since then, my unique career path has led me around the globe, from vibrant experiences as an edpub business owner in India, to Singapore and Hong Kong where I was a touring musician. Immersed in diverse cultures, I've gained a unique perspective on design and content creationunderstanding how to craft products that resonate with users from all walks of life.

Mid-career, I took a detour and became a K/12 teacher. This experience further enriched my understanding of user needs, emphasizing the importance of adaptability in design. Through teaching, I learned to tailor my approach to meet the diverse requirements of students, a skill that seamlessly translates into my work in user experience (UX) and content design. Throughout that entire time, I kept my hand in design. One positive result of covid was that I had time to take the plunge and embark on a UI/UX boot-camp course of 500+ hours, bringing me full-circle back to what I loved at the start of my career, content design. Teaching remotely during Covid also gave me the extra time to learn enough HTML/CSS to code this site from scratch!

Currently I am a user experience and visual designer for Aquent Studios, an embedded creative services team inside Rockwell Automation, one of the largest automation companies in the world. The primary focus of my current work is educating customers on innovative products and services in the marketplace. Designing interfaces with the use of 3D environments, immersive hologram experiences, and animated visuals to engage customers on the newest technologies.

Fun(ny) Facts

Early in my career, I played at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, and on multiple Broadway shows. Before that, stitched costumes for Phantom of the Opera!

During my time as the owner of an edpub design & production studio, I moved my family to India to lead an office of 100 people to augment our US studio.

How in the world did this happen?

While working at McGraw-Hill I took on extra freelancing projects. One client led to many more, and before I knew it, I had a company which grew from a small design and production studio in NYC/FL to a larger facility in India. Rather than outsourcing, we became the ‘outsourcer’.

Lots of stress overseeing a 100+ team across the ocean! This is where I honed skills on working closely with cross-functional teams and learning first-hand, the business acumen of Indian culture.

One of my superpowers is adaptability!
